Engineering faculty building of Karakoram International University was set on fire by unknown individuals

 Unidentified mob set fire to the engineering building of Karakoram University last night. According to reports, this act was carried out by the people in retaliation against the government's move.  The provincial government took action immediately in Chilmis Das after taking over the seats, who had been a battleground between the government and the natives of there for a decade, the government used its power and machinery to its full advantage. The administration demolished several houses with heavy machinery at 2 am last night, but a few hours later the public heard about the sudden action and rushed to the spot from the houses, after which they became enraged after a commotion.  The mob set fire to the Karakoram University Engineering Building and torched all the machinery on spot. Islamabad zoo closed on December 16 after its final occupant relocated

The Himalayan brown bear at Islamabad’s Marghazar Zoo named ‘Bubloo’ is being transported to a sanctuary in Jordan. The zoo, which drew international condemnation for its treatment of lonely elephant Kaavan, closed on December 16 after its final occupants were relocated abroad.

Former Prime Minister Mir zafarullah khan jamali passed away here on wednesday night in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: He was admitted to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) after sufferingcardiacarrest. The 76-year-old seniorpolitician from Balochistan served as prime minister of the country from 2002 to 2004 in former president Pervez Musharraf`s regime. Mr Jamali was under treatment at the AFIC due to upper respiratory problems. Doctors put him on a ventilator a few days ago. However, his condition went from bad to worse on Tuesday and finally he passed away on Wednesday. On Monday, after wrong news of Mr Jamali`s death was aired by some private TV channels, President Arif Alvi tweeted a condolence message. However, soon he deleted the erroneous tweet, apologised to Mr Jamali`s family and said in another tweet: `I have deleted the tweet, based on wrong info with apologies to the family. PTI's Khalid khurshid khan elected chief minister of Gilgit Baltistan

The Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly on Monday elected Khalid Khurshid Khan of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf as chief minister and Pakistan Peoples Party’s Amjad Hussain as leader of the opposition. Speaker Amjad Hussain Zaidi chaired the assembly session held to elect chief minister of Gilgit-Baltistan. PM Imran Khan, who was fielded by the PTI-Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen alliance, and Hussain who was a candidate of the opposition parties JUI-F, PPP and PML-N, secured 22 and nine votes, respectively. After the CM election, Speaker Zaidi announced that the opposition parties submitted requisition and said Hussain was elected opposition leader in the GB Assembly.
